WasteWise was created with the aim of strengthening the skills of public officials and local actors involved in waste management, promoting sustainable approaches in line with European directives. The project aims to provide an opportunity for training and exchange of good practices between Italy and Slovakia, encouraging the adoption of concrete and effective solutions at the local level, thanks to the structured partnership with Asociácia agrárnych a environmentálnych právnikov.
Through training workshops and practical support tools, WasteWise aims to improve the capacity of municipal administrations to address environmental challenges related to waste management, developing a culture of sustainability and transnational collaboration.
Main activities
Comparative analysis of waste management practices in the two partner countries
Development of training content for workshops
Organisation of 6 workshops in Italy and 6 in Slovakia
Exchange and translation of good practices
Creation of communication tools (website, videos, webinars, visual kit)
Expected results
The project involves the direct training of at least 144 participants in Italy and Slovakia, strengthening the technical and managerial skills of staff involved in waste collection and management. It also plans to draw up a set of best practices to be shared at European level, promoting solutions that can be replicated in other contexts.
WasteWise will also help to create new connections between public bodies, environmental organisations and policy makers, generating lasting synergies and fostering a cultural shift towards greater environmental awareness.
