The project <\/span>Hate is not a sport 2<\/span><\/b> intends to develop the actions of the previous edition and<\/span>contribute to combating online hate speech related to the sports sector<\/span><\/b>, maintaining the centrality of educational activities to foster young people's resilience in the face of the phenomenon. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The project is being implemented in\u00a0<\/span>7 Italian regions<\/span><\/b>\u00a0(FVG, Veneto, Lombardy, Piedmont, Emilia-Romagna, Lazio, Sicily) to maintain attention on online hate speech as a changing and insidious phenomenon and to encourage the participation of schools and the amateur sports sector in <\/span>educating young people to recognize and combat it<\/span><\/b>. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The project includes preliminary research activities<\/span>on the attitudes and behaviors of young people in virtual relationships containing hate speech with the involvement of the University of Trieste - Department of Life Sciences<\/span>and investigations<\/span><\/b>on the trends assumed by the phenomenon in the main social networks and newspapers in collaboration with the University of Turin - Department of Cultures, Politics and Society. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The outcomes of these activities will support the development of\u00a0<\/span>a software\u00a0<\/span><\/b>by ISF \u2013 Informatici senza frontiere, capable of intercepting conversations containing hostile and discriminatory tones and proposing dissuasive responses, which will be a fundamental tool for experiments and simulations in subsequent prevention and contrast education activities. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

These first phases will therefore guide the implementation of <\/span>training activities for teachers, coaches and other personnel involved in sport<\/span><\/b>, promoted by the ADP, ASPEm, CELIM, Comi, COPE, LVIA, ProgettoMondo CSOs in collaboration with ISF and the CSI and LIBERTAS sports promotion bodies, so that create a solid educational presence around young people that can foster dynamics of opposition to hate speech. <\/span><\/p>\n

The same partners will be involved in the implementation of<\/span>educational activities in schools and amateur sports groups<\/span><\/b>, aimed at developing transversal digital skills in students and young athletes, linked to sociality and the exercise of citizenship, with hate speech having a direct relevance to the sphere of rights. <\/span><\/p>\n

Young people will therefore be able to experiment with the skills they have learned, actively participating in the\u00a0<\/span>alternative storytelling web campaign<\/span><\/b>\u00a0coordinated by the partner ImpactSkills, which will accompany the entire project and will be enriched by the presence of testimonials selected among athletes and sportsmen loved by the target. <\/span><\/p>\n

Finally, some of the young participants in educational courses carried out in classes and amateur sports groups will be involved in the creation of <\/span>territorial digital activism teams<\/span><\/b>\u00a0who will have the task of intercepting and countering hate speech related to sport, proposing dissuasive reactions and responses on social media.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
