In turn, the Executive Committee elects the <strong>Chair, Vice-Chair, Secretary and Treasurer<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>General Meeting of Members <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>It is the supreme body responsible for the organisation\u2019s strategy and, in general, is responsible for:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>appointing officers<\/li>\n<li>approving the annual budgets and final accounts<\/li>\n<li>defining the Association\u2019s strategic decisions and annual plans.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The members of CO.P.E. are the founders and individuals admitted by the Executive Committee.<\/p>\n<p>Individuals may become members, subject to a resolution by the Executive Committee, provided they submit a written application and have demonstrated an interest in and participation in the organisation\u2019s initiatives for at least three months prior to the application.<\/p>\n<p>Members who are up to date with their membership fees may attend the General Council with voting rights, and each member may be represented by proxy. However, no member may cast more than one vote in addition to their own.<\/p>\n<p>Composition of the General Council: 49 members.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Executive Committee<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>This is the governing body. It is responsible for ensuring that the organisation acts in accordance with its values, its mission and the resolutions of the General Meeting.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>sets the policy and strategic direction for activities<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>decides on the admission, resignation, forfeiture of membership or expulsion of members<\/li>\n<li>approves or amends the internal regulations<\/li>\n<li>manages the staff and collaborators employed to pursue the organisation\u2019s objectives<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Board members for the 2025\u20132028 term<\/h4>\n<p>Michele Giongrandi Chair<\/p>\n<p>Renata Card\u00ec Vice-Chair<\/p>\n<p>Alfio Curcio Board Member<\/p>\n<p>Niccol\u00f2 Notarbartolo Board Member<\/p>\n<p>Augusto Gammuzza Board Member<\/p>\n<p>Valeria Rossi Board Member<\/p>\n<p>Alessandro De Filippo Secretary<\/p>\n<p>The Executive Committee consists of a minimum of five members and may be confirmed or amended by the General Assembly when offices are renewed every three years.<\/p>\n<p>The Bishop who chairs the Commission for Cooperation between Churches of the Sicilian Episcopal Conference is an ex officio member.<\/p>\n<p>Following the election of officers during <strong>the 2025 General Assembly<\/strong>, the Board currently comprises <strong>7 board members, <\/strong>of whom 5 are men and 2 are women, who meet on average at least once a month; each board member is assigned responsibility for a specific area of competence in relation to which it manages relations with the designated staff.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Audit Committee<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Following amendments to the Articles of Association, the presence of auditors is no longer mandatory within the association; for this reason, no auditors were appointed during the 2019 General Meeting.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>As required by law, the General Meeting of Members, held in December 2020, <\/strong>appointed a <u>Audit Committee<\/u>\u2014which may consist of a single member\u2014to carry out the following main tasks:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>to monitor compliance with the law, the Articles of Association and the principles of sound administration;<\/li>\n<li>monitoring the adequacy and functioning of the organisational, administrative and accounting structures;<\/li>\n<li>monitoring compliance with the organisation\u2019s civic, solidarity-based and social utility objectives;<\/li>\n<li>carrying out inspections and audits at any time.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Furthermore, during 2020, our organisation adopted a <strong>Code of Ethics<\/strong> as required by law.<\/p>\n<p>View the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cope.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/CODICE-ETICO-COPE.pdf\">COPE CODE OF ETHICS<\/a> here<\/p>\n<p>Cooperation with Emerging Countries is committed to ensuring the safety of children involved in its activities in Italy and abroad, recognising its responsibility to protect, foster and promote their wellbeing. Public Funds Received in 2023<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Thanks to the calculator developed as part of the \u201cAzioni Concrete, Impronte Leggere\u201d project,<br \/>\nCO.P.E is able to report the CO\u2082 equivalent emissions resulting from its core activities.<br \/>\nFor 2023 alone, the figure stands at 65.756 tonnes of CO\u2082e, 77 per cent of which, however, is attributable solely<br \/>\nto air travel by staff posted to PVS offices.
